Apply for a complimentary Compass dossier

Compass dossiers are paid ($199 / $299 / $499). We grant free access on a case-by-case basis to journalists, academics, non-profits, and early-stage founders who can't justify the spend yet. Applications are reviewed by the editorial desk; we typically respond within two business days.

We don't share your details with anyone. Only the editorial desk reviews applications.

What gets approved

  • Newsrooms & pressdossiers used as research input for published reporting are routinely approved.
  • Students & facultydossiers used for thesis work, classroom material, or independent research are routinely approved.
  • Pre-seed founders when the dossier directly informs a fundraise narrative and revenue is below meaningful thresholds, we usually approve.
  • Non-profits with verifiable charitable status are usually approved.

Commercial use, agency client deliverables, and competitive-intelligence work for for-profit teams are not eligible for free access, those tiers should be paid directly via /compass.
